I really don't understand some of the (lovely) pension pots and perks that you lot have! Excitingly I have received a letter from Aegon via the DWP lost pensions service saying they might have an account with my name. Failed authentication online via Experian (no idea why - been at this address on electoral role for 7 plus years but might be to do with farm property name and postcode not quite matching - we've had issues with that in the past). So it's a letter with certified copies of ID. Might only be £1 in a pension, but might be a missing 3 year gap in my pensions from 1992, so here's hoping! ![]() |

Out of interest does your pension provider do the magic and pay any tax for you or do you end up doing a tax return? I’m assuming the former?

Mine happens by magic, including the adjustment for building society interest.

I draw down monthly from my pot. Every couple of years I’m gonnae look at what I’ve got & if it’s over a certain amount take some out(if I pay tax I don’t care), just did this for a new car. Nae mortgage, nae kids, nae point in letting it just build. My Mrs left her pension with her work and gets monthly. |

I assume mine is technically not a pension as I didn’t contribute to it neither did an employer. It was an investment of a money pot from my divorce. I take a ‘pay’ monthly along with my small nhs pension.

Just spoken to mum (who does zero socialising and calls no one) she was shocked I don’t miss work and the social side of it I reflected on the office silence She continued to say you learn so much not just about work but about life when in the office I reflected on all the hours people wasted talking about love island and soaps and the latest must watch Netflix series Nope no not at all I’m loving not working! |
