In my experience most of the good capable hard working people progress whilst those that dont tend not to. The bigger issue is some people end up a promotion or two above their capability, or sometimes at too early a stage in their career

Apologies for the non sequitur; I've just stumbled across this screensnip I did at work, when they were trying to convince folks of their commitment to "Diversity". This snip is from just three years ago. "Pale, Male, Stale" personified! |

Cheers @Windsor Wool it looks like those four chaps have the same jacket and shirt - maybe they swap heads like Worzel Gummidge or Kryten in Red Dwarf? |

I had a stroke of luck last week. In fact twice. About a month ago there was an all day training session of the type I would hate that involves lots of break out groups and pointless discussions. I wasn’t invited and I didn’t draw anyone’s attention to the fact However the training went well and so a follow up half day online session was booked for more people and I was caught. However it was short notice and for the first half hour I had a clash with a meeting I wanted to be at and was with a senior manager In the end I agreed to join late. However, when I joined no one let me into the zoom meeting and I had a spinning wheel for twenty mins before giving up No one seemed to miss me. lol. |
