I don’t understand those working into their 70s and beyond because they like it!

We had a temp at work who said he got bored not working so we said why do this job (he was seen asleep at the desk on more than 1 occasion) and not just volunteer sometimes

He responded no! If I’m going to do something I want paying for it!

I am technically going back to work for 2 days to help close up the branch surgery. Confidentiality paperwork to sign when I get home.

My sister is coming up 69 and still works. She doesn't need to financially but her husband (younger is still working) and she says she would get bored. She also lost her son coming up 2 years ago and I think that plays a big part in her working, as it keeps her busy. I just hope they get to actually enjoy retirement

I knew I would enjoy retirement. I was determined to leave by the age of 55 at the latest (and actually found I could afford to go about 15 months before that). This was driven by seeing Dad get his cancer diagnosis when he was 50 and not living to see the retirement he'd carefully planned for.
