Tomorrow I’m retiring from Bus Driving and starting a new job on Monday as an Auto Electrician installation technician. Going from a medium sized company to a very small well established company that hopefully will see me through to my retirement in 4 years.

um wrote: Does a regrade mean a salary increase gg? And are you DB? If so you may want to check how long that takes to filter through to your actual pension. Yes and yes @um, I believe it’s based on last 2 year salary so one of the questions for the pension people when i hopefully speak to them next week. But even if it’s minimal on pension it will impact the obvious annual salary and also my bonus so it may be enough to keep me there another year. Although if I’m honest the pull that this time next year we could be free is tempting. |

just heard an ex work colleague has passed away, he can only be 4-5yr older than me. Another reminder that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. He’d been in a hospice so no doubt battled a serious illness. Far too sad. RIP Mark.
