Thanks everyone and sad gg , also over last 5 years seen half a dozen or more colleagues pass or survived stroke/heart issues of which some younger than I. Whatever one does to keep healthy in the industry there is no escaping the long hours, irregular shift patterns and stress on todays roads.

Good luck UltraDunc.
I wanted to be a bus driver, but my uncle who was, used to always say that an empty bus is a happy bus. He didn’t really like people.

Good luck UltraDunc I wouldn’t like to be a bus driver as you say so much stress to be where you should be at the right time against the traffic issues getting there.

Our neighbour is 47 has fully renovated their house and starting on the garden and he had a heart attack, he survived but big impact on him. He’d been at ours on the Monday (took poorly on the Saturday) and had been in the garage crying with my husband about the stresses at work. He works as ambulance dispatch and saying he has seconds to determine where to send the ambulance, he was under investigation as someone died when he didn’t chose to send their ambulance - however the one he dispatched too was in a more critical position and would have died also. Must be so hard to work with that day in day out. His wife also worked there but got out as she said she was at breaking point.

Sounds like you might have a case for constructive dismissal anyway?

Ah. Perhaps a legal letter reminding him of the penalties for slander might be useful :-)

As Mr. Angry sent his assertions written in an email, then any possible defamation in it would be libel, not slander (spoken word).

I could have been still working looking out of my office window and the sea but instead I was on my paddleboard on the sea. Gotta love retirement
