My wife got a tax rebate last week. She hadn’t applied for it. Retired last November.

I’m off to Bristol at the end of the month but that’s not really a holiday although we have pencilled in being there for 2 weeks. Holiday is our cruise round the med in October.

We are a week into a month of festivals. We did 5 days at Lytham last week, tomorrow we go to 2000 Trees near Cheltenham, and at the end of the month it's Latitude. All done as volunteers with Oxfam. We get free camping, meal vouchers for when we are on duty, free entry to the festival, and, best of all, the opportunity to meet loads of happy smiling people. |

I got a tax refund almost instantly when I submitted my tax return last year. I'd paid a lot of tax on account the previous year and then only worked for one month. This year HMRC accepted that I don't need to do a tax return because my pension is taxed at source.

I’ve told accountant I won’t need him next year as I’m now below tax threshold.

[@Dave W - yep it's a lovely pub. We had three or four meals there last year and I expect we'll do the same this time.]

I’m pretty good with faces @ThorntonRunner so if I see you knocking about I’ll say hello.
