it's not duped, Leggy - don't blame yourself. Mum has products with them and has been 'lucky' with he advisor in that he has kept in touch and given frequent reviews. -less frequent now he's finally got the message that she's not buying anything else/investing further Anyway, SJP are reviewing *every* client and their contact with individual advisor. If they find that you haven't had the contact you should then a payment will be made automajically. I forget the figure they have put aside to pay this but it has at least 7 figures. If you have been let down and not had the regular advice you have paid for, there will be a cheque in the post at some point in next 18 months. |

I'd never ever go for the "only 0.5% charge a year" management fee jobs. Those guys drive Bentleys. I don't.

St James have a poor reputation. I've recently started watching a lot of stuff published by Alpesh B Patel (If you Google him you will find links to his YouTube, Insta, TikTok, whatever channel you prefer). As such you realise that most of the funds our pensions schemes are invested in perform quite poorly, both the active and passively managed ones, and often those with higher charges underperform a market tracker. |

My SIPP is all in trackers these days. Low charges make a difference long term.

Yep - unfortunately I found all this out too late and I was tied in. If you think the advice fees are bad, wait until you see the exit fees !!!! Plus, they have some weird set up with the advisors. They sort of are but aren't St James employees is the best way I can explain it. |

EvilPixie - have you checked HR and people policies? There may be some advantages to you if you're retiring vs just 'leaving'. For example, continued access to staff discounts/sales (if you get that at the moment), pro-rata bonus, maybe others? |

I was St. James Place but my advisor left and set up his own company. I see my pension is paid through SJP though. Will wait and see if anything happens. I must say I did get an annual review.

I’m with SJP. The charges are high but imho it’s performed well.
