It measured several cholesterol related things, plus haemoglobin and some liver and kidney indicators, so fairly thorough I thought. Can't remember any of the exact details.

I went to the Docs the other day to ask if I could have a "Well Man" check. I don't know if that's what it's called but I had one about 5 years ago and it informed me my blood cholesterol was quite high. So I changed my diet and it went back to "normal" within about 12 months. Reception: we don't do those any more but I can give you a BP appointment. Well, I supposed, something is better than nothing, so I arranged it. The practitioner had clearly not got the memo because she took several bloods and checked my BP and blood sugar. Got the results of the blood tests about 5 days later on the NHS app. Might be worth considering if you haven't done one before. JB, "worried well", Stratford-upon-Avon. I got a “well man” at my doctors a few months ago. A quiet rural practice 100m away, what’s not to like 😀 |

My Dad was on a flight to Spain a few years back and was sat beside two men of his age. They had a friend elsewhere on the plane who was in poor health and it was their last hurrah so to speak. My dad enquired about travel insurance and they said it was OK. They has established a cremation was £50 and they could get the urn on the flight home. Is that true re: the urn? I didn’t think you could fly with human remains… well, hopefully he didn’t die out there anyway… |

A friend has asked me to take some of her brother’s ashes to scatter when I go to Japan & Australia next month, not sure that it is permitted?

Amazingly, you can fly with ashes. - not attempted by the English cricket team since 2011, though. |

Ref abf.gov.au There are no requirements for importing human ashes into Australia. There are requirements however, in relation to the container used to hold the ashes. It should be free from contaminants such as soil, and containers made from wood must be declared to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry on arrival For Japan : The container must be leak-proof and labeled "ashes." You will also need to provide the airline with a document that states the name of the deceased and the date of death. In all cases, whether hand luggage or hold, the ashes will be subject to the same security & xray checks as any other luggage. |
