I've never thought of a will as an appropriate place for writing funeral wishes.

My intention is have my instructions written down in a note and have it will my copy of the will. Not that Iām planning to go anywhere soon *crosses fingers* but I suppose I should make a start on that.

The point about leaving such wishes with the will (only) is that it might take a while to find and be too late by then. Also, will the funeral be arranged solely by executors? I'm sure it's probably ok most of the time but not really what a will is designed for.

Sigh
Mom & I had a very useful conversation in Sept '22, the result of which is that I now have a note on my phone (using the Samsung Notes app) entitled "Mom's important info" which starts "Bedroom, chest of drawers, RH side, 2nd drawer down" and then lists the expected contents, and a couple of other important notes. Easy to find and follow in what will be a time of high emotion. |

My family are all very aware of my wishes and the fact that they will have to hold on to me until the bluebells are out in our family's favorite woods. It's often talked, and joked about. They also know what song I want played at the end of my funeral š

I have been looking at some of the drawdown forecast tools which are interesting and helpful. However none of them seem to allow for state pension when it kicks in ie I might want to take a higher amount until SPA then reduce it at that stage. I might need to build my own spreadsheet unless anyone knows of such a calculator. |

That's the sort of tool that our adviser uses. It allows for the commencement of occupational pensions, state pensions, house downsize, etc. It allows for flexing the rate of return, the rate of increase of drawdown.

Bazoaxe I had to write my own in Java to simulate different scenarios based on starting pension pot amounts and different amounts to fund each year until SP kicks in
