Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yes I enjoy the Shedunnit podcasts.

I've always thought that Caribbean Mystery novel was a below-par AC too, RS.

I went to the local library, but none of the recommends on here were there. I was stumped for a while and wandered around. Ended picking up The Animals in That Country; a story about a flu virus in Aus that enables people infected with it to communicate with animals. I’m only at the start, so just getting the scene set.

I'm reading The Paris Library. I don't recommend it. It's the second dud that Mum has given me. Not taking any more off her unless I know the author.

Perhaps it was always on display, because no-one ever picked it up!

Interesting, Bint.

I’m nearly at the end of the Animals In That Country. There’s a plot device I haven’t come across before and it makes the story for me. I’m not sure how to rate this book, but the plot device definitely keeps me going. Despite that fact that the characters are a bit one-dimensional, I’ve ready avidly to nearly the end with about 2 chapters to go. It would make a great series or film - I found it very visual.
