Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I stopped after I felt they were all getting a bit samey. After the one about the photographer, I think.

Totally agree. Manipulative maybe, but I was totally hooked.

I meant I’ve also read (not I’ve also ready).

Thanks for The Blue Afternoon recommendation - will order from the library. Remembered I’ve also read Any Human Heart. I found that touching.

I’m reading an Agatha Christie now. I’ve twice had to check that it’s not someone writing in the style of AC. The book starts off with lots of short sentences written in the style of AC but with no flow. It’s like she was on holiday with hubby or friends and said “Start this book off in the style of me”. I’m sticking with it, but it’s not up to her usual standard. Clunky and lots of irrelevant info just thrown in there indiscriminately.

Which AC is it, RS?

Also, if you are a fan of Golden Age crime fiction, then I highly recommend the Shedunnit podcast.

Thanks for the Shedunnit recommend also. I’ve added it to my reading list and hoping to get sorted with internet on Monday.
