Didn't like Eleanor Oliphant.
Liked all of Patrick Melrose.
Love Douglas Adams, Iain Banks, and usually Rose Tremain but not all of them. Actually the last non book club book that I loved was Commonwealth by Ann Patchett. Dislike description but like language and character.

Liked little fires everywhere. And the book of memory. And Gideon Mack. And tinker tailor soldier spy. Book every year of my life being kind to me at the moment
I didn’t much like two of your favourite books: post office and that one with the shrieky bloke. So I’m no help

Also, you might like Le Carré’s latest, Agent Running In The Field.

Thanks for the New Yorker link to Resevoir 13, Dio. You might recall just how much I love that book - the review - which I hadn't read - does it justice in my eyes!

It’s very good, isn’t it? Made me appreciate the book even more than I did.
