Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My parents moved to Wakefield when I went to Uni. Although I went back to see them I never thought of it as home. But I recently took some of my southern friends back to introduce them to Rugby League. The top picture was from the Hotel front door, I think Holiday inn express. Very welcoming but we did enjoy an evening at the Red Shed.

Hertford Tiger After I settled in Liverpool to teach, my trips back to Wakefield became less frequent. Your post brought to mind the former Swallow Hotel in Queen St, which unwisely employed me as a barkeep in my wilder days :-o While at school, my pals used to frequent dances at both the Con and Labour clubs!
Now, is the latest Trinity Great Escape on? ;)

swittle hope the others on here don’t mind the Wakefield chat but the Holiday inn expresss and the Swallow are the same building. I turned left out of the front door for that photo of the bins.

We also went to the Cons club for a pre match drink, the difference was the Con club charged a day members fee whereas the Labour club signed us in as guests.

It would be amusing if Trinity escaped at the expense of Cas. But I can’t see it happening

M57 near Maghull; the message, a few years old now, is probably still current. Applied by enigmatic & secretive beat combo, The Pies.
