Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Work is taking me to London later this month and I may just be able to arrange things so as to have a free afternoon for this. Time to dust off the (virtual) A to Z.

If all goes well, I'll have a go at this tomorrow afternoon. I'm looking at visiting the 22 streets and the four stations, but I really can't get interested in the Jail, the Water Works or the Electricity Company. Starting from near Russell Square, I think I'll run down to the Strand and follow the route anticlockwise (Fleet Street and Old Kent Road next) to end up in the West End.

I'm aiming to start around 2pm and to take anything up to three hours (including time for photos!) if anyone is interested in a last-minute outing.

Wouldn't Tower of London, Embankment and Tate Modern do for Jail and utilities? Good luck

George, I think they probably would! But that’ll be for another attempt - I decided to keep it simple and try to eliminate uncertainty, so they’re off my list.

Speaking of uncertainty, it seems there may not even be a Bond Street, so I’m going to have to choose “Old” or “New”.
