Fingers crossed. I'm enjoying looking at the Munro possibilities for future trips.

Likewise, I'm enjoying seeing the "optimum" lines between lots of Munros from Donnie's tracker. Lots of good memories of all of these hills. Windering he'll camp somewhere high after Cairngorm tomorrow to avoid the climb back up on Friday for Bynack Mor. Conditions look good except for gales (!) metoffice.gov.uk I think I'd drop down to the ski carpark for a decent sleep with those gales forecast. I've been on top of Cairngorm in tent-folding gales before and it's quite challenging. |

Day 6, 44/282 completed, 12 planned today _andy - I think after a big day like today, you'd want a decent bed for the night rather than a tent, so yes I think he'll come down to the van. If the van was at the ski carpark, then no easy way from there to Bynack Mor, quite a drop down into Strath Nethy, then a steep, pathless climb. Wonder if he'll just cycle down and overnight outside Glenmore Lodge ? Really good path from there up Bynack Mor, quite a bit of it was upgraded a few years back. He'd even be able to mountain bike in for a few km if he had someone to follow him to retrieve the bike. Tomorrow's a relatively short day on the hill, just the 5, but a decent cycle from Braemar to Glen Tanar for the isolated Mount Keen |

Epic and surely more interesting than running round in circles for two or three days

Much more interesting than normal dot watching! The route planning must have been quite an exercise in itself. Hope the weather improves for him. Forecast is better at least. I had issues in the past in Knoydart when burns became raging torrents and miles got added to the plans. |

Annoyingly, lost the GPS signal from the tracker for the last 30-40 mins - I'm interested to see what route he's taking from Beinn Mheadhoin to Cairngorm. I think the "standard" route is to drop down to the east end of Loch Avon, up to the Saddle, then up Cairngorm, but he's started retreating back to Loch Etchachan before the signal went. Will he drop down to Shelter Stone then up Coire Raibert, or try and stay high and go the longer way around, skirting Ben Macdui ? Wondering if the torrential rain from 2 days ago has meant that they are worried that the outflow from the east end of Loch Avon will be difficult to cross ?? Only done it in a dry spell and was straightforward Any thoughts from anyone that knows the area |

Ahh, I was too impatient, he's back on the map - Shelter Stone and Coire Raibert was the answer ![]() |

Gus, can you post a link to the tracker please. I am also interested in his route up toe Cairngorm.
