Leg 1 (CW) of the Ramsay Round, so for Donnie perhaps a relaxed 8 hour day out with no biking etc at either end. Probably one of the shorter days he will do during the round! Yesterday was for instance more than 12 hours and I would have thought that was going to be more like the norm.

Typo, should have said "more than 14 hours"

Yeah, should be a steady day today.
Tomorrow is the first day where he makes up a day on Spyke's schedule. Spyke did 10 on south Lagganside, Donnie's planned on doing 14 - the extras are the 2 on the SE of Loch Corrour and Ben Alder/Beinn Bheoil. Spyke did those 4 as a separate day later in the schedule on his way back west after doing Cairngorms, Glendoll, Glenshee etc
Pity his schedule doesn't give ascents and distance, would love to see the day to day ascents. He did mention in the UKC interview that his biggest day was 80km and 5500m, which is huge, but I'm sure it's the cumulative effect that will be difficult.

I've added a link to the 40 day schedule that Spyke used into the sidebar if you want to compare how they've split the days up

Thanks for that Gus.
The cumulative effect of the physical effort the round requires will undoubtly be a major factor but I think as well the cumlative effect of living out of a relatively small space with his support will be significant too over the space of a month, particularly if the weather isn't great. It isn't like he can retire to a separate quiet space whilst the crew deal with sorting stuff for the next day. It's one thing to do it over a week like on Lejog or the Wainwrights but this is for over four weeks back to back!

Very true ff.
Not sure how big a crew he has - his wife Rachel is the main one, but not sure if others just coming in and out for a day or two here and there, or if anyone else there for the full duration.
Recall that Spyke had some overnights away from the van in bothies and even a wild camp I think - support trekked in with all the gear to a pre-arranged spot. Not been through his schedule in detail to see if he also has those planned or has arranged that he can get back to the van each night.
I'm in Killin, so he'll be over my local hills ( the Ben Lawers group ) a week on Tuesday - I haven't seen a request for ad-hoc support on the hill, but may try and get in touch with the team to see if they need any supplies up top anywhere nearby.

Trackers - more hassle than they're worth!
Seems like he's going well though.

ff - your 8 hour guesstimate for today's leg was pretty much spot on
