Don't you count that as core Becca? Maybe I don't do as much core as I think - I count bodypump and pilates (and swimming actually! ) as core! :-)G

It has some core aspect to it as you have to maintain a core of iron while doing plyometrics and so on but I don't log it as "core", I log it as "exercise class" because that is what I have always done with fitness dvds.

I have been following this thread for ages but don't think I've ever posted on it before. Found some useful things in the header, though.
FWIW, I can hold a plank (front or side) for 35 seconds, but the last 10 seconds is a bit trembly. Trying to prod myself into doing some core work regularly, and feel this thread may help.

There's a guy at our gym with a fat tummy who did 9 min plank to win a plank challenge. Don't think I could do more than 2 mins. My arms get tired! :-)G

I once did 4 mins. I was teetering on dropping from about minute 3.

Oh my lord I did the Rupp/Farah stability workout minus the ones that needed pulleys or a gym ball (have got one just wasn't blown up, *note to self to check routine before commencing next time*). Forget DOMS I am aching virtually immediately, can only get better, just goes to show how much I have let things go.

I remembered that the reason I haven't done any real core workouts recently is that I'm a lazy sod.

I'm a real lazy sod when it comes to core too. Word of warning though! After six days of forced rest due to a lower back muscle pull I have just managed a really steady run out. I will do core strength, I will do core strength.......
