My sunflowers are all out in big pots and flowerbeds now, and very soggy. Slug pellets going out later once I've planted up the remaining patch in the front garden with some heuchera and pretty red annuals that jumped into my trolley at the garden centre.

Mine have just started developing flower heads. Do they tend to stop growing at this point?

Nope - they should continue to gain height until the flower head becomes so heavy it starts to droop.
Once the flower head develops any kind of size , stake it if you haven't done so already as they can become quite top heavy

OK, it's not a sunflower.
But it's almost nine feet tall.
My tallest sunflower is about six feet (gauged purely against my height)

All my tall sunflowers are 90-105 cm tall. Whether they have been planted out in soil, in pots, or are still in the greenhouse in overly small trays. The ones in soil are looking a bit ragged as something is eating their leaves.

I’m entrusting the care of my two sunflowers to a friend’s son who we are employing to do some watering while we’re away. One has flowered and currently is 7ft 8in, but it’s sibling which has yet to flower has grown to 9ft 2in.

My sunflowers are all out in the front garden now and so far appear to be healthy and unslugged. They're up for another dose of neglect next week.
