Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have 3, one is TINY, two have somehow made it up to shoulder height, still growing, heads forming, there seem to be variable in colour which is a bit odd from a single packet......

I have two competing for the prize of tallest in my garden but I need sun as they are distinctly shy at the moment, the only ones with any colour seem to have come from a midget sun flower variety. One of my taller specimens may soon outgrow the vegetable cage it is currently residing in, have yet to decide how to tackle that problem!

My sunflowers seem to be covered in black bugs - any ideas on best way to deal with them?

no, I may google that, very diluted washing up liquid was my Dad's answer to everything bug related.

MIne are rather belatedly doing well, small flower heads but a bit of a growth spurt, about a foot in the last week or so, above my shoulder height. I think it is too late bit I am making a Christine Ohuruogu type late dash for the line.....

I think that's the same for everyone Alice

September was a bit of an arbitrary date anyway - just around the time the kids went back to school.

This year the Sunflowers seem ahead of time :-)

I have my first flower, perfectly timed the day after we came home from a week away. One of my tallest has flowered, as has my BentyMcBentstem contender.
