Enjoy your virtual stroll quimby.

If that type of thing is interesting to you, you might find the tower fascinating. Because of the long distances between reliable water sources and homes/industry there could be difficulties in maintaining sufficient water pressure at the far ends.
Usually, the column of the tower contains a pump which raises low pressured water to the reservoir at the top, and then gravity increases the pressure of the outgoing reservoir water to the next part of the system.

You may well already know this.

Well, I find it interesting. ;-)

I haven’t kept up with this thread it moves so quickly but I wanted to say my mam (Geordiemum) signed up. She didn’t think she’d manage 600 miles in the time frame but my word she’s been like a ninja. She has walked more, she has increased her running miles and today she went out and ran 6 miles to get herself to fetch towers.

Again huge thanks for setting up this challenge it really has inspired and motivated us. Well done Geordiemum bunting

I don't think most of us have a clue how water gets into our homes. We could do with a water tower to increase the pressure of our shower, TBH.

You found it - I was just going to name it for you.

It’s a visible landmark from a favourite loop of mine the other side of Bedford

I thought the Water Tower might be the Ravensden one. In this relatively flat countryside, they do tend to be landmarks.
This Challenge is more than just a walk/run, it's an education as well! :-p
