Stuff to do today, finished early so watched recording of yesterdays UCI mtb to find Annie Last took the win.
20 years since Caroline Alexander won in St Wendel, her only UCI race win and the last UK women,s win at that level.
2nd yesterday was Gunn-Rita so had to look and see that Gunn-Rita was 17th in 1997.
Wonder if Annie will still be racing in 2037, would put reasonable money that G-R will still be racing in her 60s albeit not at UCI level

Gunn-Rita will race for as long as Merida make bikes...!
I was sooo chuffed for Annie. It was beginning to look as though she might not quite make it and be the Tim Henman of MTB XC with her Andy Murray in the form of Evie Richards chomping at her heels for the top spot.
The national Champs sure is going to be interesting in a couple of weeks - here in Cannock Chase

Yeah, have an outside plan to travel up for that Cath, especially as I am gaining brownie points with Mrs DB off to Wimbledon today.

22nd and 23rd July, elites on the sunday at 1pm for ladies and 1515 for the men.
Whats happened to Bike Channel, missed the end of the mens UCI so wanted to catch that on the repeats but channel tweeting tech difficulties. Have they paid the bulls I wonder.

Gobi, if you're up this way on the Friday night, there's elite series crit racing in beverley (just north of hull) for more spectating options.
Sadly not getting out much on the fat tyres so far this year, though did get done medium tyred fun in on the cross bike at the weekend
