Well, of course a horse is not carbon free either.... My favourite stat is that the carbon footprint of an average sized dog on a normal diet in the UK is greater than that of a car. The latter footprint including manufacturing and running of it. |

I find dogs last longer than cars. Plus, personally, I get more pleasure from dog ownership ![]() |

What if the dog drives an electric car? Maybe the dogs could drive the Uber vehicles? Trouble is, they would only have two destinations - The park The sausage shop |

Thanks cackleberry, you'be just prompted me to look up something I didn't know. Average dog lifespan is 10-13y Average car lifespan in dist is ~150,000miles The average driving distance in the UK is ~7,500 miles per year So that makes car life span ~20y. Or 1.5doga |

I've also managed to blow up two cars, never blown up a dog. Wonder how far a dog travels in it's lifetime? Current dog is doing a minimum of 3 miles per day... Also, last year the car did 19,000 miles. |

What if the dog drives an electric car? It'd have to be a biggish dog if it can reach the pedals and see where it's going. |

But seriously...I presume the footprint of a vegetarian dog would be much lower.
