The Doctor K Cup
98 watchers
The seventh annual Doctor K Cup will take place on Saturday October 19th 2024
All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. The Fetch Benchmark system will pull out your fastest 5k from your run (so you can include it as part of your long run if you like). The person who gets closest to their prediction will be declared the winner (though the judges decision is final!).
It would be lovely if you could upload your 'K' pics to the gallery (make a K shape with your fingers) to help us remember Doctor K and all the Fetchies we have lost.
NB A GPS watch reporting 5.00km will do so from 4995 metres onwards, but you MUST run at least 5000 metres or more. To avoid disappointment add an extra 10 seconds on to the end of your run, just to make sure.
How to join in
Firstly, add the 2024 Doctor K Cup to your Fetch portfolio. All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. I was way out! Headed for a flat parkrun and put my "normal" time for my hilly home parkrun, which was a huge overestimate - have been unwell for a couple of days so thought I'd be slower.

I was way out too. I had to stop on my way round a harbour when I saw a friend for a chat about the history of timber exports, sawmills, exports to Netherlands and Germany, etc., so my time was blown out of the water by about 20 mins 😅

Thanks Mrs S but I’ve done nowt this year other than set the date, and I even got that wrong! Some big stuff gone wrong at work so just in after leaving at 5am with more of the same tomorrow. I have had a good think about about departed friends but I wont be running tonight. Well done to all x

Are you Ten Hag in disguise Joopsy? Sorry your work stuff has ruined the day for you, but thanks for your efforts for the missing and missed fetchies.

Back to Fetch’s question on the current leader. If its an offically measured course then yes, Im happy with it. If not then we would move to second place.
