Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Pacer names are on the website too

tcslondonmarathon.com

A quick bit of stalking reveals, as last year, a high number of pacers apparently flying in for their pacing duties from homes overseas. I find that interesting; do the organisers offer pacing to overseas runners as some sort of discount for getting into the race maybe?

Conditions look perfect.

I've just sent a message to EA asking if London has a race permit as it's not on their race website. 🤣

I'd like it ideally a few degrees cooler (sunny and 5degC would be my ideal) but I'll take that forecast over a 20degC heat and / or a strong blustery wind.

I might be wrong here, but forecasts for windspeeds tend to be more reliable from a decent distance out, so fingers crossed that aspect of it is true at least!

The humidity can be a more important factor than the temperature.

larkim 5 degrees would be too cold for me and I would probably DNS at that temperature unless it was forecast to warm up quickly.

I like 15 - 18 degrees as my perfect temperature.

I am a sucker for looking at long range weather forecasts... I am already starting to look for Boston on the 28th. I have never know one be accurate and generally changes from perfect weather to hurricane winds in the days before!

I carry a bit more heft along with me, so I think generate more heat myself than many; part of my homeostasis I guess. I detest running in hot weather, but 15 would be fine. Though my club vest is black, so any sun does make it feel warmer than it really is!

Forecast looks perfect - far better than running in the rain like last year.
