Could it be something to do with setting up for the Coronation? I think the grandstand was for that?

.B. Yeah, maybe it’s that. Thanks. (I was wondering if it was to do with the extinction rebellion demonstration that was planned, but I was basing that on absolutely nothing!).

The yellow wave's 3:05 pacer was a Spaniard (I think) and from time to time he got the spectators excited by waving and yelling. Pretty solid pacing too, halfway around 1:32:30.
Sorry I had to let him go around 28k.

I had the full London experience as I was queuing for the loo for 40 minutes in the drizzle (yellow assembly area). You can't get more British than that !

Queues in yellow were long!! I didn't see too much of the 3:05 pacer from yellow, but I have a vague recollection of that too.

It was noticeable that the crowd respond to the pacers, quite a lot of "here come the 3:10 pacers" etc (slightly disconcerting when you're just ahead of them!)

I liked the female urinals, mostly because there was no queue whatsoever. But my bum did get a bit rained on in the process 😅

The queue for the mens urinals were huge; the most polite group of male runners I'd ever encountered. Though a fair few were adding to the general water on the ground at the edges of the cordoned off area...

Yes, there’s apparently 99 of me. I’m not sure I want to pay £33 though 😳

It's not a bad price, relatively speaking, if the photos look to be OK. 30p a shot, though I'd guess a lot of them are pretty similar and usually (in my case at least!) not terribly photogenic.

166 of me apparently.

I remember from last year getting my son's photos, that that system they use is a) clever but b) a bit un-user friendly. Not sure why they don't go for number recognition and proper "login" details so that you can be a bit more precise with picking photos etc.

About This Thread

Maintained by Kirsty
After getting lucky in the ballot yesterday, I couldn’t find a thread, so thought I’d start one. Bit of background: I ran 7 marathons (2 London, 2002 and 2006) between 2002 and 2016, fastest 4:06, slowest 5:09. Major health issues in 2017 and 2019 and I felt that my marathon days were over, but I kept entering the ballot, safe in the knowledge I wouldn’t get in - and now I have! I am probably looking at walking the whole way, or possibly jeffing. I’m very excited and very nervous!
