I'm getting my first tattoo on Friday!
I'm going to need aftercare advice from you lovely people.

Have read back a bit and purchased some EZ Second Skin, some Bepanthen Tattoo Intense Care Ointment, and some Hustle Butter. Hoping that means I am suitably prepared :-)

I used to use bepanthen but my Tattoist recommended hustle butter which is much nicer to use. You won’t need much (unless it’s huge)!

What are you having? Very exciting.

I don't remember doing any after care on mine?
The most recent one the tattooist covered with that surgical clingfilm cos I said I was going running the next day and that's it.
Probably used some E45, but I don't even remember them being itchy?
All 3 healed perfectly.

ohhh I love sharks, can't wait to see it.

I think the after care is to keep the skin moisturised to reduce risk of scabbing and loss of ink.

Discussed today, Bepanthen us a no no, but reading around if used very sparingly is ok. I'm probably going to stick with Hustle Butter on todays, I have Palmers Cocoa Butter too so could try 1/3rd of each and see if it heals differently.

I reckon care is care so long as done sensible & regular plus no picking the scabs it should generally be ok.

With second skin, things seem to heal so much more easily, though I have still done bepanthen for a couple of days after taking it off for my last one.

I got kitchen clingfilm today, have removed washed with carex, & then Hustle Butter applied.

Last time it was medical film that I kept on for a few days. Tbh I think I preferred that, but after this heals I may change my mind depending on the how process feels & the outcome.
