The *story* is what I am struggling with :-/ I have sat and written what 'happened' to try and give me some structure to work from.

I've never used Driscol before though so at first I was writing too much in the what so moved it to the so what. Now I have to keep going back to check I am not repeating my self and I lose focus. This essay will be the death of me I say lol

It sounds fine EB. Just don’t mention to nursing academics that learning styles have been thoroughly discredited (when will they get the fucking memo!)

I have spent many hours working on the narrative to one of my dissertation themes today, only to realise that it is not a theme after all because while most of the 8 papers *mention* pain assessment needing to be improved, it turns out that only three actually looked at it themselves, the other five just parrot 'previous research has suggested'. And one of the three had a sample size of 11 and doesn't say how many felt their pain was not assessed.

So that‘s an awful lot of work I had already done (identifying themes) needing to be redone.

I fucking hate this. I have considered pulling out of the course due to this dissertation.

Carp I know exactly how you feel I have given it some thought myself.

I am going to do my best but this is the last essay I will ever write. I have made the decision I will not be doing the top up for the band 5 after this. I have to do '18 months consolidation' then I can do the last year part time meaning it takes 22 months. That means by then I'll be 50 years old and I have plans to retire at 60. I do not want to spend a considerable amount of time in a career I love beating myself to pieces over essays etc.

I've looked at my papers again and they're all looking at different things, I can't drag themes out of more than one or two, and I wish to God I could quit.
