Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Although only one knows the lyrics, I suspect most of you could have a fairly accurate guess at the place location ...

Well remembered @HazelnutCH it was today.

Sorry I've been AWOL again. A lot going on with family at the mo so stress is not decreasing for the moment.

Well I did it! I got lent a road bike last weekend so had had 2 goes on it in the week, totalling about 4 km!

As you all probably know the weather today wasn't great for cycling, especially on a bike and style you've never ridden before but somehow I survived! The race was 4.5 km run around a very muddy field, 24 km cycle on main roads and country lanes, and 2.2 km run round that boggy field. It was a very small field of runners but I felt really strong on both runs, and somehow even overtook someone on the bike! I found cycling downhill terrifying but I did feel remarkably strong on uphills and flat. I even overtook a load of people on the second run who'd overtaken me on the bike!

I had put my mountain bike pedals onto the bike and they were comfy to ride with which was great but did mean I didn't have the benefit of clippy pedals. Wasn't going to master those in 4 days though was I!!

My a goal was under 2 hours, by b Goal was to not come last and my c goal was to finish. Well I finished in under 1 hour 45 and was 2nd senior lady!!! Somehow....and yes there were more than 2.

Anyway I'm knackered but very happy!

Hope you got home ok Peter!

Happy Sunday all
