Should be OK for Nottingham though - there must be a fair few people running around 80 minutes. I have always found racing in a pack saves me that but more energy - not dissim, ilar to cycling in a pack.

Eerrrr actually looking at the results from last year - maybe not! Sorry! thought there would be more people sub 80 than that - 5000 runners and only 12 sub 80!

Well it's a differnt course this year, flat and fast - used to be quite hilly, so that may account for the slower times and also that hillier courses put off faster runners. Hope there will be a few around me this year - otherwise it's going to be a lonely run!

Nice one djw - though with your GNR time must have given you a quiet confidence - what was the course like?

Pleased to report my PF scare seems to have abated following a bit of cut back and X-train this week.
Now I'm pondering whether to race a flat 5M next weekend or put in one last long run. The 5M is the running favourite at present.

Looking forward to the reports from the halves and fulls this weekend.

Managed a 1:20:4x at Nottingham. Definitely lost quite a bit in the wind. Last 2 miles was a hard slog into a headwind. finished 3rd female, so pretty happy with that. Was expecting more 1:22 - 1:23 with the wind - surprised I got so close to 80 mins! :-)
