FF - the former sounds good to me...finding knots and trigger points and applying static pressure.

Just come back from my Sports massage,it hurt! but keeps my legs good, i think. If your racking up 35+ a week reg, think you need it.

Welcome Ajpar ! New thread really, but its taken off welcome, thread is only as good as the people and few good ones here, I think.

Miser
TC - I like the sound of the Kenyan Hills session. Lumpy tempo focussing on even effort covering all bases - nice.

Having said that, I'm still doing all my speed work on the treadmill. 10k tempo in 36:20 today.

I really think longer continuous runs at a decent effort are making the difference in getting some shape back after the summer.

Definitely starting to feel the lack of preparation time remaining for Cardiff now. Working on the premise that I have 1 week of usable training left for that race and then 10 days treading the taper tight-rope.

Loca
I have a HM on Sunday. Flat course. Not sure if I'm going to attempt the sub 80 or not.

Just ran 3x 1600 at the track this morning; 5:50, 5:49, 5:44 and felt reasonably comfortable. They are faster than when I did mile repeats just before Reading earlier this year, and I did 80:20 at Reading. The course on Sunday should be faster than the Reading course.

But I just don't feel like I can do sub 80 right now. Probably all psychological because it's a barrier I've been close to breaking twice now and not done it. Starts to mess with your head!

Speedie
Been knocked out by a servere cold even came home early to chill out - never go sick! So there goes this weekends 10k

Managed my strength session yesterday a combination of 452 squats and lunges and some core work which is really paying off. Had a session with the chiropractor last night which has made a big difference.

Loca what would you say is a tougher race a sub 80 or sub 2.50? - Good luck this Sunday.

dj give it some this weekend - race wel.

Speedie, could you let us know a bit more about the core training, squats, not done those in years..... All I'm doing at moment is bum clenching, lying on my back and letting up my hips with bum clenched hold for 10 seconds and down, repeating 5 times. Also, jumping in the air on the spot,15 of those 3 times a day. I know I need to do more and liking squats, anyone else do this kinda stuff? Miser?
