Because of cookies, this came up on IG for me and shows the cups which are clearly filled from the bottles in the background. instagram.com Big_G I assumed based on this link but it's not explicitly stated. Given it's an article that suggests that people can use Lucozade as it's on the course, talking about 500ml if the cups aren't that size is misleading. tcslondonmarathon.com |

That is confusing. Probably others will be able to confirm one way or another though. Tokyo had something called Pocari Sweat. Sounds appetising, right!? |

The sweat of the pocari (a subspecies of asian racoon) is reputed to have great stamina-giving powers. I hope you drank plentifully. Similarly, Calpis is the urine of a small rodent called the cal. It's mostly for digestive benefits. As for Strawberry Colon, I can only advise you to avoid consuming prior to a colonoscopy. |

Definitely Lucozade in cups this year. Disgusting, sticky stuff. I don't know how anyone can run after drinking that. jda - have you tried the Kendal mint gels? Apart from being quite large (necessitating different shorts to my usual ones due to pocket size) I've found them really good. Easy on the stomach and refreshing (I use the citrus mint flavour). |

Yep, paper cups this year and last for the lucozade. I tried a swill last year, got sticky sugary hands for my pains, didn't bother this year.

don't know how anyone can run after drinking that. Even if you didn’t drink the stuff, you still had to run through the sticky road surface after both the Lucozade stations. I could feel and hear the stickiness through the soles of my shoes, so dread to think how well it would’ve gone down my gullet if I’d taken any 🤢 |

LMH, I've never really bothered with gels at all. Well, I do sometimes use them cycling, because my wife has them. Not for running though.

Thanks for asking Chris, I’m trying to convince myself I’m ready but I’ve had less mileage, less long marathon pace runs and less racing (like parkruns and half’s) so I’m not quite sure what I’m capable of. Having said that I’ve had some hills, run in heat, and 4 20 milers (4 more than last year). I’ve an idea of what I want to set out at but want to run with/near people and dial into effort more than I have before and make sure I get to the end capable of holding pace. |
