So far so good today, possibly a tight sock causing compression pain yesterday? Fingers crossed, short run due later will be a good test.

Day on feet in town on school holiday daytrip was fine, 5 mile run with 8x10s strides went brilliantly.

Turned around in kitchen whilst prepping tea, sharp pain in right calf/achillies. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Staying calm as hopefully just another taper twinge 😬

Domestics are dangerous at this point in the taper rhb! How is it this morning?

Come on rhb the kitchen is a dangerous place. Sounds like you need to just stay in bed with some room service until Sunday.

On the plus the weather on Sunday looks near perfect!

It seems OK, perhaps a bit tight but no pain pain or just pain even.

I'm at the very emotional stage now, sat here in tears having just read the BBC article on Hillsborough & the Forest fans who were there. This suggests the taper is in the right place.

I might ise the moment to reflect on my training log and how ive succeeded by getting through the plan, then Sunday routine some thought then put this on to listen to get more tears out:

https://youtu.be/-Mp6F0u-cw0

Then it's prep tasks today:

watch has been recharged
Kit is out ready number pinned on
shave & toe-nails next (tmi, sorry)

sort Garmin connect tracker to autostart as backup to event race tracker for family,
Nip to charity shop for new old warm top layer to discard & re-donate at the start line
Plus the usual eat>drink>sleep. Bean chilli & rice tonight.

Planting seeds is low risk activity right? So long as I don't lug a big bag of compost about?

3 miles gentle tomorrow in race shoes. Then pizza & early night hopefully.

Hope everyone else is in the right place with preparations too 👍

Training reflection highlight: I ran a HM PB in a race where I'd ran for an hour to get to it and didn't/couldn't go full gas as a result.

Suggests there could be more to come regardless of what happens on Sunday.

Beans might be a bit risky (or they would for me anyway! TMI. LOL) and be careful kneeling or bending when planting the seeds!

Little Miss Happy that's why I'm having beans Friday not Saturday ;)

Was working in the polytunnel so seedtrays on a bench. 40l Compost bag moved without incident.

I have to go low fibre from the Thursday before a Sunday race. :-( Glad you survived the gardening unscathed!
