Did you think Vaporflys is better than Alpaflys for you for the Marathon Chris
Im having a pair of Alphas that i am going to start trying out as soon as it's a bit better under foot outside. Going to be interesting, i've been in vaporflys last marathons, going to be interesting to try another, supposedly, better shoe. :)

I love running in the Alphas and they certainly aren't a bad shoe. It could just be coincidence but I think the vaporfly's suit me better. I'm sure others have seen improvements in the alpha so you'll only know when you try

Think I agree with Chris but it's a close call. Just seem to have had my best results in VF and never quite so good with the AF, but it could just be coincidence. I don't think there can be much in it. My all-time PBs were in the original first model VF but there's an age-related decline to consider too.

That's an oddly specific target time Chris, is it the PIN for one of your bank cards or something?

Seems like Gus has rumbled me! A 2.35 seems a stretch too far but itโ€™d be good to average sub 6โ€™s for a a marathon.

My marathon pb is also in the original vaporflys, although I have come very close to it in the vaporfly next% and alphas.

Cheers guys.
Iโ€™ll try a few harder and longer excursions and make up my mind about what shoe to use.

I've had both and I ditched the Alphafly's, too loud, too chunky, too heavy.

Damn Charlesvdw, not one more :)
I hope I find them ok, I was looking forward to get a new pair of favorites race shoes.
But maybe I wonโ€™t:)

MetaSpeed Edge+ are like having springs on feet. Fun to run in. Size up a bit snug than id have liked (i went half size bigger based on reviews) but think/hope that'll be OK.

After a couple steady miles I ran at around/just above threshold effort (173bpm) and was 6.15 mile pace for 5 miles... watch says my new threshold is 172bpm 6.42 pace though.
