How are you doing jda? I ended the week on 72 miles which is the most I've run since the last week of August last year. Not sure I'm going to be able to sustain it as I have aches and pains in places that haven't usually given me issues and my amazing physio seems to be enjoying motherhood too much to want to return to work. I should probably book in for a sports massage with someone else but am finding it difficult to go to someone I don't know/trust. Having survived the cold snap it now looks as though there are gale force winds and heavy rain to negotiate again. <<sigh>> Why couldn't they have left London in October! |

I was thinking the same about London, winter training is less enjoyable. We’ll done on getting the miles in if you can keep that going who knows what London will bring. 10 mile race for me tomorrow in the wind, at least it won’t be icy 🤷♂️ |

I'm pretty much over it now LMH but not feeling terribly strong, tomorrow will be a 5th day off and then I might think about a gentle jog on Monday. The advantage of winter training is that if I wasn't going to race I'd be less likely to do any exercise at all! Whereas in the summer it's often more of a pleasure going out for its own sake. Not sad to see the back of the snow and ice though, it's a bit of light relief being snowed in but makes life difficult when there are errands to run as it's really quite exciting getting the car out. This was someone coming down our hill into town this morning (not sure if viewable but let's try): facebook.com |

It is viewable jda and looks deadly! Glad to hear that you're feeling better. Wise not to push it. Our cold conditions have been replaced by high winds - gusting 37mph this morning and tomorrow if the Met are correct which makes running difficult for me. It's sustaining it that's my worry Chris. Both of my knees, my ankles and now the big toe on my right foot are complaining loudly. A cut back week (which might happen because of the weather this week) will probably help the knees and ankles along with a sports massage if I can bring myself to try someone new but according to my podiatrist the toe is ischemic. Hope you have a good race. |

Take it easy JDA, I caught covid at New Years and was off for 2+ weeks. I seemed to recover to 80% fairly quickly, but that last 20% took ages. Did a few gentle runs and then managed to tweak my hamstring during a gentle S&C session. Father time definitely asking questions of me 😁 |

Back on the treadmill now, a short jog yesterday and a sightly longer one today, no problems. Legs, lungs, pulse all seem fine. Just a slight cough in the cold air of the treadmill room. Knee slightly sore, I had a niggle pre-covid and disappointed it didn't clear up over the past week but it's not serious for now at least.

Sounds positive jda. Shame the knee niggle didn't clear up with the time off.

Legs feeling the effects of some easy treadmill jogs which I wasn't really expecting. After my recent hiatus I'm 100km down on mileage compared to this point in my best years. But actually still ahead of some slightly less enthusiastic campaigns. It's unlikely to be a vintage year but if I can avoid any more issues I'll not have too many excuses A few race days coming up in Feb to finally test myself. |

Be cautious jda. If any of you haven't read my blog (and why would you, I rarely post a public one). I am making a blatant plea for a portion of your hard earned: fetcheveryone.com/blog/6099/2024/1/478501 |

Glad you're back in the game jda. Final big week in the P&D plan will finish with a 'dress rehearsal' long run tomorrow. A small pb at Newcastle 10k last weekend so a little something to show for all the miles already. |
