hello all have managed another two sub-2 half marathons this year, without any training targeted at this distance. I have been focusing on 5k and doing a couple of intense speed sessions a week, and then an 8-10 mile "long" run at the weekend. was delighted to run a 1:57:xx a few weeks back without really thinking too much about it. how's everyone else getting on? |

Well I've spent this year back as being a triathlete and the last two before that being a cyclist, so it's all been on hold. Plan to have another shot at Bentley in Feb. The good folk of the Hadd thread would have a fit at my numbers - 1:18 for 10 miles, 2:0x for 13.1. |

I fell out of the sub 2 again after a 1:58 at Loch Leven with 2:01:20 at Haddington (which was ok on a warm and windy day). Next target I think is Glasgow in October, not run that for four years so never done the new course.

My next race (Kenilworth Half) definitely won't be another sub 2! I've missed quite a bit of training while I was on my cruise in August. I'm looking to do another half in November which, depending on the race choice, might be a possibility.

Hadn't really thought about that. I got back from the cruise on the 19th and have done a fair few miles since then!!! Might have a rest tomorrow.

Hi All, Anyone have a short, intense HM training plan, designed to be run off the back of a marathon? I run York marathon in October (prob not a PB attempt due to disrupted training) then I'm doing St Neots half in November, which will be my first HM in a couple of years. I last did 2:01, so a sneaky minute off that would be excellent. I'm normally fighting fit after a couple of days after a marathon, so am not too worried about recovery. |

I might have answered my own question with a Hal Higdon plan halhigdon.com
