I can't believe there isn't already a thread for this. But I can't find one. So I started one.
Any takers?
My next attempt at the fabled sub-2 is on 17 Sept, i.e. a week tomorrow, though I can't say I'm confident.

Why aren't you confident?

Your shorter races suggest sub-2 is well within your grasp, although your longer races haven't reflected this yet. But they will

You have been clocking plenty of miles so no reason why you can't get a sub-2.

That's encouraging, thanks
I know I can run several miles at that pace or quicker, just not confident of keeping it up for 13! But will give it a good go

*kicks Sheri up the arse*
You are totally capable of doing a sub 2!!!! Just believe it yourself. There is no secret except put the miles in in training and eat something at halfway.
And positive thinking always helps.

The Scribbler and Nywanda are both due this soon. I think that for me it was racing half marathons more often.

And find a flat course and make sure it's a cold day
I think you will do it Sheri, wish I could be there to see you finish but I am on a course

Ah yes, a flat course and a cool day, both things I have somehow managed to entirely avoid so far in my half marathon history
The 17th had better not be another scorcher!
*thinks positive thoughts*
