Aiming to do Henley in mid October in sub 1:40, will be my first race in a few years. Currently training indicates I am in approx 1:50ish shape, but I've got more weight to lose before then and still speeding up and getting fitter each week. Previous PB of 1:29 is 6 years old, but since then I've not really run, until the start of this year.

Training approx 6 times a week for about 30-40 miles, mainly base work, with a long run of 10-12 miles, with hill, tempo sessions (often as a parkrun) featuring weekly if I'm in the mood. Only race form to speak of is a 22:30 parkrun last month, which suggests a bit more speed and subsequent speed endurance required.

Henley has a steepish 1 mile hill, and a small offroad section so not necessarily a PB course, but it does work to my strengths.

I like henley. The hill is nasty, but the downhill on the way back is great, and I like the contrast of the first and second halves of the route.

I need to get the hills and speedwork going again.

Yes I think it will be the right course for me. No idea if I will run sub 1:40 but it's worth a crack at it.

hoping for a sub-1:40 at St Neots. It'll be the day after the Beacons Ultra which should make 1:40 a good challenge!

I'm quite happy to be carried on the luggage rack if we are short of space...
