It's a bit scary, but I've been meaning to do this for years, and better crawl will make a massive difference to my OW swimming.

I started a new pair of running shoes yesterday. That also echoes "Keeping for best - don't!" because I have several pairs of running shoes that are too good to use. Like I'm saving them till I'm younger, faster and prettier or something like that.

I've swum in my glasses. It used to be the only way I could keep an eye on my small children while I was in the pool.
I learned to swim with my head in the water as a by-product of scuba diving lessons and was mildly distressed to discover that my "proper" breast stroke speed is identical to my "head up" breast stroke speed.
