In contrast, I ran four miles with my dog, then did 1.40 in a hilly Macclesfield half, then four more. Not bad considering I did seven miles XC yesterday. That's 28 miles in 24 hours. Not sure I've done that before.
What are your views on tapers? Not sure weather to go for three or four week taper...

well done BVRB i couldnt of done the xc before macc half. i flew today at macc 1.28:19 SB.
i need to not get carried away now. snowdonia is a completely different monster. i still need to pace myself for a 3.45 time at snowdonia.
BVRB...how did we manage to stay dry today.

Thanks Manc Girl - I shouted hello to you when I ran past you (near the leisure centre car park) - was running for Congleton Harriers though so you might not have spotted me.
Capt. - fantastic time! I think you'll batter 3.45. My Macc time was in 2008 1.32ish I went on to do Snowdonia in 3,42,23 - I'm betting on 1.36 for you.

thanks BVRB my problem is i'm slow uphill but make up time downhill, passing the runners that overtook me going up. over 13 miles you get away with this but i dont know if my leg joints can cope with 26 miles of it.
also i've yet to complete a marathon having pulled out of my only attempt last year after 19 miles through illness, i'm running to finish. i'm going to enter liverpool double marathon (flat NO HILLS) on NYE, when i then can go for a fast time.
