Wow how spooky Mulbs. I looked back on some of the comments in here just last night. Iām definitely a lot slower than I was but happy still to be getting out there . Just wish I could go further than 3 miles. Maybe 2025 will be the year I improve again. Hope you are keeping well. |

I'm great thanks LipGloss. My plantar fasciitis has just about gone away so I'm delighted to be doing anything at all now. I'm still run walking rather than run running. In my head I'd love to get long distance again though. Nice to "see" you x

*waves* ![]() Glad to hear you're back in the game again now mulbs. I'm slower than ever but still trying to get back on it again after injuries and holidays this year. In no time at all I'll be off again for skiing so maybe come the spring I'll start seeing some improvements again. |

Love your perspective on time at the Santa Dash Mulbs. When you think of all the criteria for how a run went / felt / was the time it took is such a small element. The only thing that makes me bewail not being faster is when people question me on "What's happened?" Why I'm being slower and struggling more than they thought I aught to have been (kindly meant I'm sure at a club - did not go back!) or when I just wish I could keep up with people so I'm not on my own at things like parkrun. I prefer running alone on purpose to running on my own in a group. Definitely better to try to step away from even thinking about it. Merry Christmas Lip Gloss! You do an amazingly consistent pace at 5k. Looking forward to seeing your goals for the new year. My team at work are doing a step challenge this December - aiming to step the equivalent of to the north pole and back. I quite like the way this has given me a feeling of having a bit more of 'a level playing field'. Doing plenty of movement and just trying to loose weight and build base fitness ready to start half marathon training for the May Manchester Half. Just enjoying run walking, hoping to get fitter so I can do more without my heart rate going through the roof. Lovely to see the SAP club going again, I've not been a regular on here for years. |

Hello lovelies, I think it's easy to be your own critic but more important to appreciate the things you do to be as fit as you can for your age/size/circumstances (both mental and physical). I'd love to still be smashing long distances but having been unable to do anything for months, I'll take a 2 to 3 mile run/walk! I put on 2 stone in the 2020 madness and cannot shift it, I've recently accepted that this might just be my "new" size and weight and that there's no point hating it. Here's to us and here's to keeping on keeping on x

Need to get my head in gear and go out for a run. Set off on Sunday, hadn't gone very far and somehow tripped whilst at pace. Tried to keep my balance, stayed upright for 2 more steps but really hit the deck hard. Big graze/bruise to left elbow, knee, right palm but worst was because I hit the ground with my left cheek and left eyebrow ridge I've got a massive purple eye. Even after prompt frozen peas. Embarrassing toddling into a massively public facing job looking like I've been thumped.
