I think most of the Americans who I spoke too were concerned at how the world was looking at the USA, most seem genuinely embarrassed by Trumps antics but not liking Clinton either, except Florida, they love Trump in Florida

neither choice seems ideal (although I find Trump the more frightening of the two- you have to wonder how it gets to that (in government here as well as there)

Welcome back Stew, I had a similar kind of trip a couple of years back. I loved Nashville and Memphis. :)

Oh dear, that's twice I've done that today - saying I've been somewhere that someone else is going/been to.

We have been to Nashville and loved it, wandering in and out of the bars listening to the music, seem to recall Layla's bluegrass inn had some great bands. I bought a gorgeous pair of shit-kickers there too (cowboy boots) and we met the Green Bay Packers in our hotel - if we were there the week before we would have met Kings Of Leon! Gutted!

I preferred Memphis to Nashville too but I haven't been to New Orleans. The ribs in BB King's in both Memphis and Nashville are wonderful. pig
