The Wombling Plodder (Welsh Womble)
Thanks alpenrose - I wouldn't mind but I had just managed to get down a steep and slippery hill, and as soon as I was on flat ground I went flying, Mr W dispairs of me lol. Oh, and the pilates definately worked the glutes on Saturday ;-) I am just recovering from the DOMS (ouch). Enjoy the Solent walk today :-)

Yes definitely got to get those glutes doing the work - there's a reason that they are the biggest muscles in the body! First thing my physio did on my first appointment was to test my glute strength, it was embarrassingly poor so my calves were doing too much work.

Im still getting used to running with a better form but I find if I try and make my glues do the work it really helps. Makes hills a bit easier too!

It was nice and sunny as we set off on our walk but before too long the mist rolled in and the wind got up and it was really cold. We saw loads of birds though but couldn't identify a lot of them. My friend told me off for talking to strange men when I kept asking them if they'd seen any interesting birds today. They were very obviously birders in their camouflage carrying big scopes and tripods. ;-)

Thanks Fragile, my fur and padding helped however landing on my knees for the past +40 years has taken it's toll on my poor knees - I need bubble wrap knee pads ;-)

The day did turn glum Alpenrose :-/ although it was nice when I walked through the park where it was raining leaves :-) My inner child enjoyed kicking them up as I walked between the trees :-)

Poor Womble having another tumble. Hope the knees feel better soon. It's freezing here this morning, frost on the cars and grass, really chilly. I can never recognize many birds Alpen, though I did get a good sighting of red kites earlier this year - I studied them flying around for quite a while and then went home to look up what they were. :-)

I've learnt that red kites are easy to spot - they're the only raptors that have a forked tail. :) We're going on another mini bird watching walk this morning as the weather's so nice again. :)

Unity
Hi all. Hugs to all those needing a bit of tlc.

Brrr it was cold when I went for my run this morning but everything looked beautiful with lots of frost. Running along one main road there was mist, cars with headlights on and blinding sunlight!

I haven't been running too well for some weeks but these past few days I've suddenly felt stronger and more bouncy. My times have been better too - still very slow though.
