I've just checked the webcams of St Anton and it's started snowing up the mountain.

Tignes was live-streaming a walk around the loch earlier, showing off all their lovely fresh snow.

The lifts are open but a lot of that earlier snow melted.
This time last year I was there for the start of the season.

Just had a text from a friend in La Plagne with some photos. There is almost no snow! The pistes are completely brown, there are small patches of snow in between, and one restaurant he showed me is closed as you can't ski to it, it's surrounded by grass/stones.
There must be some runs open as they are skiing, but the slopes he showed me didn't even look like pistes apart from the ski poles

My eldest skied in Val D'iseres in mid Dec and they had loads of snow. It helps that they have the glacier high up there and loads of snow cannons.
How strange - La Plagne is fairly close by

Yes Teen 1 was in Zell am See before Christmas. Last year there was only really skiing on the glacier, this year was much better and they skied Zell as well.

There's snow at Tignes too (as well as on the glacier), but they were quite excited when it started snowing today so I'm assuming it was starting to look a bit sketchy. Problem is it's been a really warm winter so far, nearly record-breaking. Hope it improves before March!

I guessed it had been warm as at least one bare piste looked to have canons. It's been cold here, usually that translates to cold there too. It's 2 months before I go to Kitzbuhel so hopefully should be ok!

Hope so! We were in Kitzbuhel once, at the end of the season. The bottom of the Streif was pretty agricultural and you couldn't ski back to town. Great place for a Spring break though, and we skied most of the day every day. Keep meaning to go back there
