Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

France defence leaky again, Wales cutting through too easily for first two tries. As often the case, bench made the difference.

Pity it didn't lead to a try as it was gorgeous! But in another timeline that gets picked up by a Wales player for an intercept try :-o

What was the atmosphere like?

Very good. I was sitting in an area with a lot of French fans. A lot of singing (there’s one chant which involves them jumping up and down).

Quite a few dressed as Napoleon or as cockerels, and as French aristocrat ( Revolution era). Probably the best day out I’ve had in Cardiff tbh

3 fabulous games. Bad luck Wales, some great play in first half. But France are huge and Penaud showed up today, Le Garrec was excellent but Ramos defence was terrible, but 100% kicking and good in attack. Weird. Looking forward to last weekend.:-) G

I always loved going to the old Arms Park to watch the Wales v France games Fields, the French supporters were always good fun. I was close to where a Frenchman released a cockerel on to the pitch in 1988, not an unusual occurrence in the 70s and 80s.

I'm actually not too unhappy as a Welsh supporter. Wales were never going to do any better than 4th or 5th this year and Gatland is trying out the younger players, who are bound to crumble a bit when facing experienced teams like France. They have shown some promise. Hopefully they will win against Italy, although I think the momentum is definitely with the Italians.

Thanks to jda, I've just informed my friend that not only is she going to be in Dublin for Paddy's weekend, but there's a little rugby match happening as well! The pubs could be fun.
