On re-checking I think I was too pessimistic, Scotland only need a 40-point victory to win the championship, assuming England doesn’t pull off a miracle later tonight :-)

Stranger things have happened.

England are more likely, but I'll not be placing a wager on it

I don’t bet, but three home wins would be my thinking. Wales to win a gritty one, Ireland to be efficiently be 10% better at everything than Scotland and win by 15 points, and France to just have enough against England.

It’s a pity the championship is probably a forgone conclusion, even though 4 teams could actually win. Scotland could be playing for a grand slam if they weren’t so flaky. So could England though that wouldn’t be deserved.

If England win, they’d have beaten all conquering Ireland when everyone said it was impossible, and secured a bonus point win in France. If that isn’t deserved then I don’t know what is!

England wins so far are by 3, 2, 1 points I think, mind you that’s how South Africa won the World Cup. I suppose I mean their failure to get any try or LBP this championship so far suggests they’re not a consistent team.

But if they back up last weekend then fair enough

Agree with TRO England were written off coming into this and it's been a good turnaround.

The win against Ireland is the unexpected one (and was a big step up in performance), beating Wales and Italy was expected as was losing to Scotland. Pre tournament, I'd have said France were favourites Vs England but they haven't been great and the England that beat Ireland should be favourites against them

For me England have had one good game. If they back it up today then, fair enough, it’s probably been a positive championship. Ireland have had one (by their standards) poor game. Ditto, how they go today will put that into context. Italy also need to back up two good games. It’s going to be fascinating but I’m reserving judgement till the end of the day

Hoping for Italian and English wins. Expecting Welsh and French wins. The other game hopefully a 0-0 draw or abandoned, but expecting normal service from the Irish.
