No problem with Italy being there but I do favour a play off between the bottom finisher and the best of the rest, probably Georgia for the place in next year’s 6N.

I don't think that will happen as Italian Rugby are the co-organisers, can't see them voting to get rid of themselves. Plus I don't think Georgia have ever beat Italy?

Georgia drew with Portugal last week! Italy are a current 6N Shareholder so them leaving is moot. Plus more TV money etc as bigger market and a better timezone. Frankly, no one who makes the decisions wants to spend a February weekend in Tblisi either. I doubt half of them can find it on the map.

There's probably more chance of Spain (just qualified for France 2023) joining at the moment.

Definitely need to keep Italy in there, they save Scotland from the wooden spoon every couple of years.

Wales are probably grateful they've got Italy at home next week.

Maybe I spoke too soon, Italy saved us from the wooden spoon in 2018, 2021 and (after next Saturday) 2022!

Final weekend.

6N has felt a little underwhelming this year, not sure why. Maybe the predictability, and the clear and obvious superiority of the top two (who met too early in the comp).

England/Wales/Scotland have stood still or maybe gone backwards - games between these teams were close, but error strewn and all games looked liked mid table battles between teams scratching around to find form.

Anyway it will all end with 3 bonus point home wins, can;t see any upsets or even close to it from these fixtures.

I reckon England could snatch a losing bonus point.

Eddie’s record in 6N against teams that aren’t Italy:

Win record 15/27 so far = 55%

1 slam, 2 other wins, and the mid tables and a 5th place

Lancaster 12/16 = 75%

Second every year.

That said Eddie has only lost one Autumn international (and that was by 1 point with a try that would now be allowed), and I don’t think he takes the 6N as seriously

About This Thread

OK been on walkabout but off we go on 5th Feb with Ireland v Wales.
Hopefully we will all be playing at the correct grounds and with more than a few spectators to cheer, sing, not make too much of an arse of themselves through too much of what makes them lose themselves.

Thread title has been changed so thanks for that whoever updated it.
