Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Definitely appreciating Spring :)

So little traffic through the village.
Less ironing because no formal work clothes.

No plane noise, it’s not that intrusive most of the time but it’s a constant background sound. A loud helicopter just went overhead and I realised how much air traffic noise was as constant as road noise

Birds! So many sparrows. Fewer cars on the roads. No need for bra on Skype calls. Using your own toilet rather than cubicles at work. Having a window behind you instead of being in a giant office with no opening windows and air conditioning which doesn't regulate the temperature to anyone's liking. Birds again - pair of collared doves landed on the roof of the extension yesterday and cooed for me.

I love this thread I am all for finding silver linings in troubled times.

Mine is we arrived in Australia week before things started to really change & 2 weeks before restrictions kicked in. Our long planned holiday changes and stress levels have been high at times with uncertainty about how & when to get home. But we’ve had an amazing time.

My silver lining has been the opportunity to spend 2 more days with my bestie who moved here 12 years ago.

My bank balance. Not going to shops everyday (and obviously buying non essential stuff) , no coffee shops, and not going to the bingo (yes I love my bingo)

Oh yes, quimby! Not having to use the toilets at work! Nor being too hot or too cold because of rubbish aircon.

I think I might have the beginnings of a sun tan. Good going to say I’ve mostly been stuck indoors on Fetch for the last month

No contrails

Less litter

Less music being played at full whack via a mobile phone (why do people do that when walking in the countryside)

More wildlife about.

Quiet. Just quiet.
