Fizz :-)
We parked at some football stadium last year, it was quite a distance to the start as far as I recall. Also last year they were doing refurb work to the stadium, and although we arrived really early, we had practically the last space in the car park, don't know what happened to the later arrivals.
It was a good course though, bit lonely on the second lap as most people seemed to just do the half.

I'm not sure Wolves fans would not be impressed with 'some football stadium'.

Is it just me or is too much to ask to expect that runners are at least given an explanation, or, dare I say it, even the tiniest inkling of an apology by the organizers?

I know... I have a look at the website now and then but they've gone quiet.
Took me a while to find the results... they have the 'Half Marathon' results and then they have the 'Full Marathon - Half Distance' results

Mick n Phil - Easy - Easy - Easy
explanation of what
they apologised when and as they announced it
had any runners got into trouble on second lap up in Welford or Long Marston or on greenway, they d have been damned
there were enough suffering on greenway on one lap as it was
some of u good people are hardened vets - years of expereince, - whether they should have let us run i dont know,
but many were not expereincecd and not prepared and not dressed for it

the whole race used to be on road,
but local authorities stopped that
just as they stopped the bikers parking on waterside years ago

The decision was made. Any decision would've been wrong somehow. Time to move on and look forward to the next one.

Agree with Heebie decision was made, that's life stuff happens move on , we can't do anything about it whether we like it or not, it's the organisers and the marshals I felt for, out in that weather as volunteers, I decided to , enjoy it anyway , look for the positives , there may be more troubles ahead that we need strength for. I love the Stratty course , done it three times , maybe sometime I'll get to explore the town .
