Tomorrow is looking like a maybe for running.

Two mile walk for me and a little slippery in places.

Saturday in double digits but rain.

We've got a yellow warning for rain on Saturday, going to be windy too but mild. My rest day and I have an AGM later on.

But now we have a yellow warning for snow tomorrow, high ground definitely but also to lower regions. I have an appointment in Torquay just after lunch I might phone today and cancel as any ice or snow I won't be able to get my car out as it's parked on a hill 🙃

Cancelled my appointment for tomorrow so I shan't have to worry about the weather, except for running that is.

That sounds the best option to cancel appointment so you are not tempted to try to get car started.

Sounds like ideal day to rest on Saturday.

I am just hoping weather is good for running tomorrow.

We had the worst of the weather yesterday, woke to cars covered in snow, but it eased overnight so all melted away apart from rhe fields.Still cold but not too bad, tomorrow looks worse with hail and sleet forecasted.

WP - I'll have no problem starting the car but our car park is at the end of a cul de sac, so untreated road then downhill to the next road also downhill and untreated. I've seen neighbours slide all the way down to the main road 😱. Stupid to drive unless really necessary. I used to have to walk to work in the past when we had similar weather.

There’s a new parkrun only around 1 mile from OH’s parents house, which really is a result. I am not an alphabet chaser as such, but there is also now a ‘Z’ 35mins drive if I want to do that as well (I’m there 2 Saturdays).

Big G - I think you might struggle to get Tigg out this morning, challenging conditions. I only saw one dog walker and that dog was loving it, springer spaniel.

5 miles in torrential rain with a strong east wind. A little sleet with the rain when I finished. It was bitterly cold, I was wrapped up well but my legs got so wet quickly due to the wind, they were really cold. Was much better when I turned for home as the wind was behind me. I did enjoy it but was glad when I got home.

Heavy snow on Dartmoor, roads closed, and in Cornwall too.

You did better than me Shades well done.

I manages 2.75 miles defeated by ice but at least I ran. No dogs today and snow on the mountains. I was well wrapped in layers and worked. Helly Hanson merino base layer thank you for keeping me warm😅

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
