Yeah he said it was mostly dry last weekend with one patch of mud, i suspect that might be different come Sunday. Mind you last time i did it 2 years ago there was the same weather front passing over with the same temp jump upwards. There was also a section which was detoured unless you fancied a swim as it was a few feet deep but still had a stretch of a bit over ankle deep to go through.

Keith - Better tie those shoes on tightly so you don't lose them in the mud š

I hope you have better luck than here Keith. Sounds like an interesting race on Sunday!
Just been out to inspect conditions far too icy to run on sadly. Off for walk when I get my walking shoes out.

WP - I'm not surprised it's too icy with you too.
Too icy to walk here, just watched an able bodied man having to tentatively walk down the road in the gutter.

It is fine to run here, being nearer to the coast I suppose. However I have not ran today or yesterday, as I developed a slight knee niggle. Not sure how/why it came on but itāll be gone soon. Knee was okay on the bike so I did an hour yesterday and also today, with yesterday including some 20sec sprint intervals.
OH is away this weekend so itās just me and the hound. Iām going cinema this morning and itās a quiz night this evening at The Rec (club HQ), so looking forward to that.

Big G - ice is cleared now. Still cold but warming up slowly.
Lots of minor accidents around here due to the ice this morning.
I get those annoying knee niggles which come and go at random. Hope yours disappears as quickly as it appeared.

We have some developments about Seville.
I did check a box on a website a couple of weeks ago that registered for a competition for a free place. Turns out I havenāt had to pay for the place. Being pretty cautious of scams, the site was genuine, but for some reason my name is not appearing on the āMy Registrationā section of the site. So I checked this and got the below back from me directly emailing the organiser email from the address from the official site: āEverything is correct and that receipt is enough to collect your number. Your data will not appear in the "normal" list since your registration was carried out with a codeā.
So, eeerm, Iām in!

23 February is the race date, and there are reasonably priced flights from Bristol to Malaga every day. Current thought is Thursday-Monday in Seville, catch train to Malaga on Monday AM, and then fly home Tuesday AM.
I had this slight doubt Iād been scammed somehow (even though I had checked the validity of the email and website before doing anything), but itās genuine, and I didnāt have to give credit card details in any case. Knowing me, I guess Iāll still have a slight doubt until I finally get my hands on the actual race number at the expo.
Itāll be interesting if I subsequently get an email from the wait list as well!
